Ed Johnson serves as our New Orleans-based reentry specialist. He provides case management services to our clients in the Crescent City who have completed our transitional program. Ed ensures they have continued support and access to resources as they continue rebuilding their lives.
In 2016, Ed earned his second chance and was released from prison after 25 years of incarceration. Although he was not a Parole Project client, he can relate to those he serves and shows them that successful reentry is possible. After his release, Ed earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in addictive behavior from Southern University at New Orleans. He is currently studying coding, cybersecurity, and IT at Columbus University.
Ed is an active youth development counselor in juvenile facilities and schools. He also enjoys pastimes such as poetry, chess, meditation, reading, traveling, and meeting new people.
