Demetricy is a New Orleans native, devoted mother and grandmother, and a passionate advocate for healing and second chances. She joined Parole Project’s staff in November 2025 as a reentry specialist. After spending 24½ years of a life without parole sentence in prison, she was released in 2023. Since then she has dedicated herself to growth, education, and service. While incarcerated, she earned her GED, several vocational certifications, and a bachelor’s degree. Dee is currently pursuing a certification in family counseling and also serves as an Ambassador for The Visiting Room Project, using her story to inspire hope and help mend broken families and communities.
