Johnny Evans is a reentry coordinator and certified HVAC technician who maintains Parole Project’s transitional and post-transitional properties. A former Parole Project client, Johnny brings both professional expertise and lived experience to his role.
Since returning home in 2023 after 23 years in prison, Johnny has built a steady life rooted in service. Before joining Parole Project he worked full‑time for the State of Louisiana as an HVAC technician, maintaining 24 state buildings.
While incarcerated, he taught civics and GED preparation (now HiSET) classes, served as a peer minister, worked in the library, and earned certifications in horticulture, carpentry, and HVAC. He also volunteered in the hospice program helping men maintain their dignity in their final days. This work was especially transformative and continues to shape his outlook on life.
Outside of work, Johnny stays deeply connected to his community. He officiates youth sports, trains young athletes, and participates in a fellowship group that meets biweekly.
