At age 17, Shawn was sentenced to 80 years in prison. After 37 years, he earned his second chance. While incarcerated, Shawn learned skills in heavy equipment operation, auto mechanics, and carpentry. Now 54, he is looking forward to connecting with others and using his skills to build a career.
Calvin
Calvin earned his second chance after 22 years in prison. During his incarceration he pursued opportunities to improve himself, earning culinary, welding, and forklift certifications in addition to a bachelor's degree and teaching numerous classes.
Darryl
In 1991, Darryl was sentenced to life in prison. After more than three decades, he earned his second chance. He is looking forward to working and building a new life. "All the simple joys mean so much more now," Darryl said.
